We are learning to write recounts.
A great recount will:
- have an interesting beginning
- be written in the order that it happened. It will have words about time like last, next, first, after, eventually, finally.
- finish with your feelings about the event.
Here are some of the great stories that we wrote.
A long time ago I got a puppy. It is cute. It has a smile. When I go somewhere she feels sad and I feel sad too. I felt sad and I missed my puppy Kayla. She isn't dead, she is little, she hasn't grown. After school she jumps and takes her tongue out and spits on me.
She says, "Why did you go away for hours?" Then I feel happy.

My Granny and Poppa live on a farm. Sometimes I go there. I can drive the motorbike and we went rabbit shooting. We shot a rabbit. It is cool there.

On Valentine's Day we had an awesome day. First I drove to Lyttelton town and I had a play on the playground. After that we went on a boat and had a picnic on a private beach. Finally we went back. It was fun!!

Last year I went to a Roman museum and I tried on a Roman suit of armor. It was as light as a feather, not as heavy as I was expecting. I played a caterpault game. I was very interested in all the roman coins, the armor and the shape of the oars.

You'll never guess where I went in the holidays. I went to Lake Clearwater. We drove there but Nana and Pop came up the night before. We went to the new playground. After that we went for a big walk around Lake Clearwater. I liked going for a big walk. I felt tired afterwards.
