We had another go at writing reports last term.  We wrote some about our topic  "change". 

Ferrymead Heritage Park

Ferrymead is an awesome place to visit.  There are lots of things to do there.  It is set back in the olden days.  You can go the movie theatre.  When we went to Ferrymead we did old fashioned housework.  There is a bakery and an old school.  There are lots of things to see and do there.

Toys and Games

Kids like playing with toys and games.  There are so many different ones to choose from.  They have changed so much over the years.  Hopscotch is a game that has been around for 100 years.  Toy trains have been around for 103 years, but toy cars have been around for 105 years.

Communication

Communication is all about trying to communicate with other people. Today you can text people, email, you can send a letter and call people on the telephone.  There are so so many more ways to communicate than in the olden days.  In the olden days people posted a letter and listened to radios.  In the olden days people did not have MP3 players and they did not have cameras or radios in their cars.

Transport

Transport takes you from one place to another place.  It changes a lot.  There are lots of different types of transport such as planes, trucks, trains, cars and trams.  In the olden days they had very old cars and aeroplanes too and they were noisy.

Ferrymead is a great place too.  There are bit's and bob's from the early 1900's. There is a church and houses from the 1900's there.  It is a fantastic place to learn about life from a long time ago.

Ferrymead Heritage Park

Ferrymead is a great place to go.  At Ferrymead there are lots of things to see.  It is mainly all about the olden days and how people dressed and lived.  At Ferrymead there is a different oven than today.  They had a big, big shovel to get the cooking out.  At Ferrymead they did not have washing machines but they had flannels and soap. Ferrymead had  black and white movies but now we have coloured screens.  Toys have changed because now we have lots more new games. Playgrounds have changed.  Toys have changed.  There are a lot of changes!
