Narrative Writing

The children have been working hard on writing to entertain in the form of a narrative. We read many narrative stories and discussed the way they are set with a problem and resolution.

The children then looked at a number of photos of animals in unusual predicaments. They worked hard to think of a setting and embellish the character a little and planned their writing on a story planner.

Next they had to turn their plan into a story. We finished them off at the end of last term.

Our succes criteria were
  • introducing your main character
  • making sure that the setting and characters matched
  • having a problem
  • have a try at solving the problem
  • having a solution
  • that the character learned a lesson

We hope that you enjoy them.
